I am currently 25 years of age, spending most of my days as a Software Engineer at Bash.
I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2020 with a BSc Mathematical Sciences degree where I
majored in both
Computer
Science
and
Genetics
I know that these are two very diverse and different fields, but that is also
how I would describe
my personality. I am equally “left” and “right-brained”. I reason logically and think
analytically
but intuitively and creatively. I am an obsessive planner, detail-oriented and passionate about
problem-solving and design.
That is why I am currently employed as a full-stack software engineer.
Full-stack allows me to write clean code for the front and back-end of software as well as be
involved in the designing of user interfaces.
I thus get to quench my desire for aesthetically pleasing designs in addition to working with logic
and databases.
I graduated in the year of 2016 with a distinction and admission to University.
In my final year, I was elected as the chair of the council, serving as the President/DUX of Hoërskool Nelspruit. This was a significant achievement and a recognition of my leadership qualities.
I am currently employed as a Intermediate full-stack Engineer at Bash (previously known as TFG Labs).
Authored and published a wedding planner containing the A to Z (literally) on what to do before you say I do. Find more details here or click on the shop tab.
At Code Collective, I was a full-stack .NET Software Developer for 13 months. My work focused on developing and enhancing the Guidepost platform, which uses AI-powered personalised coaching to improve the lives of people with diabetes. Clinically trained coaches provide individual support to those with diabetes, which has been recognised by insurers and device makers for its benefits.
I was a full-time student studying Computer Science and Genetics.
I created this website, experimenting with web-developement.
During the holiday season, I was in charge of managing the Augrabies Valle Guesthouse. My duties included handling reservations, financial transactions, and client administration.
During the harvesting and packing season, I had the privilege of serving as an assistant in the office of Alkara, which is one of Nel Brothers' numerous farms. My duties included worker administration, which entailed logging their attendance, working hours, efficiency, and productivity on an Excel spreadsheet daily. This was essential in computing their compensation at the end of each month. In addition, I was tasked with keeping track of the number of pallets, boxes, and bags of grapes packed each day, as well as calculating the amount of grapes that would be used for raisins.
I was ranked one of the top 10 academic learners each term for four years in High School and achieved an average above 90% each year.
During my sophomore year of high school, I was scouted to participate in the international Eisteddfod, known as AMTC (Actors, Models and Talent for Christ). The AMTC is an annual event that gathers aspiring performers from all over the world to showcase their talents and receive training from renowned professionals in the entertainment industry.
In 2015, during my 11th grade year, I won first place in the bilingual division of the Radical Speakers' national championships with a score of 92.25% (A+).
During my time in high school, I actively participated in various extracurricular activities. I served on the student representative council every year from 8th to 12th grade (2012-2015).
In 2015/2016 I became the chair of the school's representative council, receiving
the highest student leadership position and operating as the presidente/DUX of
Hoërskool Nelspruit.
Aside from my role in the student council, I also served as co-director of the school play from 2013 to 2016. This experience helped me develop my creativity and organizational skills by managing a team of actors to produce a successful production.
Additionally, I was an author for the school's newspaper from 2013 to 2015. This role allowed me to hone my writing skills and contribute to the school's communication efforts.
During my time at Stellenbosch University, I resided in Irene Ladies Residence for two years and participated actively in multiple committees from 2017 to 2018. These committees included Women Empowerment, Prim, Clothing, Social Media and Marketing, Big-Sis, Little-Sis, and Irene for Irene.
